Nainital. The journey of pilgrims to the world-famous Kainchi Dham is about to become easier. The Dhami government is preparing a special plan for this. Under the plan, air travel from Haldwani to Kainchi Dham will be possible directly. Once air travel resumes, pilgrims will be relieved of the daily traffic jams and their journey will become easier. Heritage Aviation Private Limited, a company providing helicopter services in Uttarakhand, has begun preparations to provide travel from Haldwani to Kainchi Dham in just 3 minutes.
Heritage Aviation Private Limited’s base manager, Ravindra Singh, stated that Kainchi Dham is receiving the highest demand. A request has been made to the district administration for a helipad at Kainchi Dham. He added that as soon as approval is received, there are plans to provide air travellers with a shuttle service, just a three-minute flight. A final decision will be made after discussions between the state government and the company management.
Following the Char Dham air travel in Garhwal, people in the Kumaon region are now excited about helicopter services. With the Haldwani-Pithoragarh air service launched in 2024, other hill districts in the state have also been connected to the air circuit. Around 150 passengers travel daily from Haldwani to Almora, Pithoragarh, Munsyari, Champawat, and Bageshwar districts.
It takes an hour and a half by road, but now darshan will be possible in 3 minutes.
The distance from Haldwani to Kainchi Dham by road is 62 km, which usually takes at least one to one and a half hours. Due to heavy traffic on this route, travelers face hours of traffic jams, making their journey tiring and boring. If the helicopter service is launched, pilgrims will have a much easier time reaching Kainchi Dham, and they will be able to travel from Haldwani to Kainchi Dham in just 3 minutes.
