Dehradun. Untimely cold has arrived in Uttarakhand. Snowfall has continued since this morning in Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib, and the Niti and Mana valleys. The snowfall has also brought severe cold to these areas. A white blanket of snow has blanketed Chamoli, while the high peaks of Gangotri Dham are also experiencing snowfall.
Rain and snowfall have continued in Chamoli district for the past two days. Badrinath Dham, Hemkund Sahib, the Valley of Flowers, the Nar-Narayan Mountains, and the Urvashi Mountains, as well as the Niti and Mana valleys, have been covered in a white blanket of snow. It’s been years since people witnessed such snowfall in October. This sudden change in weather has led to severe cold.
The peaks near Irani village in the Nijmula valley have also begun to be covered in snow. Gopeshwar, Pokhari, Nandanagar, Karnaprayag, Gauchar, Gairsain, Tharali, Dewal, and Narayanbagh areas are experiencing continuous rain. People are resorting to bonfires to protect themselves from the cold.
Meanwhile, the cold is being felt in the plains as well due to the rain in the plains and snowfall in the mountains.
