Two Schemes Worth ₹35,000 Crore Launched

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced a significant gift to the nation’s farmers. He launched two key schemes for the agriculture sector, worth approximately ₹35,440 crore. The Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, worth approximately ₹24,000 crore, was also launched. PM Modi participated in a special agricultural program at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi. During the program, he paid tribute to Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Jaiprakash on his birth anniversary.
On this occasion, the PM said that agricultural reforms began in 2014, when we changed the previous government’s careless attitude towards farming. We implemented numerous reforms for farmers, from seeds to markets, for their benefit. The results are evident today. India’s agricultural exports have nearly doubled in the last 11 years. PM Modi said that on this historic day, two important schemes are being launched for the country’s self-reliance. The first is the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhan Krishi Yojana (Prime Minister’s Wealth-Grain Agriculture Scheme) and the second is the Pulses Self-Reliance Mission (Pulses Self-Reliance Mission). These two schemes will transform the fortunes of millions of farmers in India. The Government of India is planning to spend approximately ₹35,000 crore on these schemes. PM Modi also congratulated the farmers for these schemes.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhan Krishi Yojana (Prime Minister’s Wealth-Grain Agriculture Scheme), the government aims to increase agricultural production in 100 districts across the country, provide loans to farmers, improve irrigation, crop diversification, and crop management. PM Modi also launched a six-year mission plan to make the country self-reliant in pulses. This scheme is worth ₹11,440 crore. The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund Scheme has been launched at a cost of approximately ₹3,650 crore. Approximately ₹1,166 crore has also been released for 17 different animal husbandry projects.
₹639 crore approved for fisheries
PM Modi has also approved approximately ₹693 crore for the Fisheries Scheme. Approximately ₹800 crore will be spent to promote the food processing industry. The government is also running a scheme to popularize natural farming among farmers. Before participating in a special agricultural program, PM Modi met with various farmers and discussed the challenges facing the agricultural sector and the positive changes taking place in the sector.
