5th PSPB Baba Deep Singh Hockey Tournament at Khalsa College, Starting March 16

New Delhi. The 5th PSPB Baba Deep Singh Invitational Hockey Tournament (Men’s and Women’s Categories) is scheduled to be held from March 16 to March 24, 2026. This tournament is organized annually by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, a constituent college of the University of Delhi. The 5th PSPB Baba Deep Singh Invitational Hockey Tournament will be inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Lalit Vats, Advisor to the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB). On this occasion, the Guest of Honour will be Professor Sarita Tyagi, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Delhi. Professor Gurmohinder Singh, the Principal of the host institution, Khalsa College, will also be present at the event. According to Ms. Inderpreet Kaur, Director of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Khalsa College, the PSPB Baba Deep Singh Invitational Hockey Tournament is organized annually at the inter-collegiate level for both men’s and women’s categories. This tournament will feature the participation of 7 teams in the men’s hockey category and 4 teams in the women’s category. The tournament will be played on a ‘League-cum-Knockout’ basis. The final match will be contested between the top two teams from the pool stage.
Teams: In the men’s category, the participating teams—SGTB Khalsa College, Kirori Mal College, St. Stephen’s College, Hansraj College, Shyam Lal College, Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and Amity University—will take to the field to vie for the title. Meanwhile, in the women’s category, teams from Bharti College, Shyama Prasad Mukherji College, Vivekananda College, and the Delhi University Alumni will present their respective challenges in the tournament.
