CBSE Board Exam Dates Announced
Exams to be Held from February 17 to July 15

New Delhi. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the tentative dates for the 2026 Class 10 and 12 board exams. According to the official notification, the exams will be held from February 17 to July 15, 2026, in India and abroad. This is the first time that Class 10 board exams will be held twice in an academic session. The board stated that this is intended to help students, teachers, and schools plan ahead.
Approximately 4.5 million students are expected to appear for the exams in 2026 across 204 subjects. Students in Classes 10 and 12 will participate not only from across India but also from 26 countries abroad, reflecting CBSE’s global presence. The Board has also stated that practicals, assessments, and post-result processes will be conducted alongside the main examinations to ensure timely declaration of results.
-The first edition of the CBSE Class 10th board exams will be held from February 17 to March 6, 2026.
-The second edition of the Class 10th board exams will be held from May 15 to June 1.
-The CBSE Class 12th board exams will be held from February 17 to April 9, 2026.
The CBSE has clarified that it will be mandatory for students to appear for the first stage of the exam, but students wishing to improve their scores can also appear for the second stage.
These exams will be held between February 17 and July 15.
The official datesheet notice issued by the Board states that the Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the following board examinations during the period from February 17, 2026, to July 15, 2026.
