Chola Chiefs, Chero Archers, and Rajputana Royals Win

New Delhi. Playing in the inaugural Archery Premier League at the Yamuna Sports Complex, the Chola Chiefs, Chero Archers, and Rajputana Royals teams won their respective matches. The Chola Chiefs defeated the Prithviraj Warriors by a margin of 6-2. This was the Chola Chiefs’ second consecutive victory in the league. World No. 1 men’s recurve archer, Brady Ellison of the United States, was in excellent form for the Chola Chiefs, which benefited the team. The Chola Chiefs defeated the Prithviraj Warriors 6-2 to register their second consecutive victory. Besides Ellison’s excellent form, another decisive factor in the game may have been the Warriors’ recurve archer Gatha Khadke’s two timeouts in the first and fourth sets. She couldn’t complete her last shot. Each shooter has 15 seconds to shoot their four arrows. Like Alison, Yoddha captain and compound archer Abhishek Verma was in excellent form for the Chiefs. Andrea Becerra also performed well. Alison and Kumari strategically hit the last shot for the Chiefs, while Rishabh Yadav provided excellent support for Alison. Miri-Marita Pas was the Chiefs’ fourth member of the team. The Chiefs won the first set 72-69. However, the Yoddhas’ efforts to make a comeback in the second set were successful. They won the second set 74-73 to level the score at 2-2. However, the Chiefs maintained their composure and continued their efforts to win the match. They won the next two sets 77-73 and 78-68 to take a 6-2 victory. With this win, they now have 4/4 points in two matches. In the match played between Chero Archers and Kakatiya Knights, Chero Archers won by a margin of 5-1. They won the three sets with scores of 74-74, 78-73, and 71-67. In the final match of the day, Rajputana Royals defeated Mighty Marathas 6-2. The scores based on the players’ performance were 77-75, 77-73, 74-77, and 79-76. Based on the points earned after the matches played, the Royals and Chiefs have four points each with two wins. Based on the difference in wins and losses, the Royals lead the table. The Royals have won 12 and lost two, while the Chiefs have won 11 and lost three. The Marathas and Chero Archers have two points each. The Warriors and Knights are at the bottom of the table. Both have lost their respective matches and are yet to open their account.
