Kedarnath Dham Darshan Sets New Record
16.56 Lakh Pilgrims Arrive This Year

Dehradun. This year, the number of pilgrims visiting Kedarnath Dham during the Chardham Yatra has set a new record. The number of pilgrims visiting Kedarnath Dham so far has surpassed 16.56 lakh. Last year, 16.52 lakh pilgrims visited Kedarnath. Despite rain and snowfall, pilgrims showed immense enthusiasm to visit Baba Kedar. On Wednesday, 5,614 pilgrims visited Kedarnath Dham. The doors of Kedarnath Dham will close on Bhaiya Dooj on October 23.
The number of pilgrims has also increased at Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri Dham. In view of the enthusiasm of the devotees, the state government has made elaborate arrangements for a safe journey. Security personnel have been deployed along the pilgrimage route. To ensure smooth traffic on the Yatra route, JCBs have been arranged to clear debris at places sensitive to landslides.
It is known that the Chardham Yatra began on April 30, 2025, with the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines. After this, the doors of Kedarnath were opened on May 2 and Badrinath on May 4 for general devotees. The Chardham Yatra was affected due to heavy rainfall, cloudbursts and landslides during the monsoon season.
