Patna : Former Chief Minister of rajasthan Ashok Gehlot has strongly condemned the incident in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where an RSS worker forced a Dalit old man to lick urine.
He said, this has now made it clear how much hatred the BJP and RSS carry in their minds towards Dalits. He termed the incident as shameful & extremely condemnable.
He said BJP & RSS only want Dalit votes but have no intention of giving them a safe environment. Gehlot said that while the RSS calls itself the protector of Hindu society, Hindutva & Sanatan Dharma, at the same time it behaves like an oppressor. In many places, their workers treat Dalits, backward communities and tribals in such a manner. If they truly follow the spirit of Hindu religion, then abolishing caste discrimination and untouchability and ending the feeling of inferiority should be RSS’s top agenda across the country.
Speaking on the continuous atrocities against Dalits under BJP rule, Shri Gehlot said that whether it is a Dalit Chief Justice or an ordinary Dalit old man , no one is safe under BJP governance. States ruled by the BJP are at the top in cases of atrocities against Dalits.Notably as per the NCRB report, the highest number of cases of atrocities against Dalits are registered in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh. In 2023, a total of 15,130 cases of crimes against Dalits were recorded in Uttar Pradesh. Just a few days ago, Shri Hariom Valmiki was brutally murdered in Raebareli. In BJP-ruled Haryana, a Dalit IPS officer of ADG rank died by suicide after alleging caste discrimination.
