Bhuj. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah addressed the Border Security Force’s (BSF) Diamond Jubilee celebrations in Bhuj, Gujarat, on Friday. Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi and Border Security Force Director General Mr. Daljit Singh Chaudhary, along with several other dignitaries, were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Shah said that over the past six years, the Border Security Force has compelled not only the people of the country but the entire world to believe that as long as the BSF is on the country’s borders, the enemy cannot advance even an inch. He said that the Border Security Force personnel have discharged their responsibility as first responders with bravery, efficiency, and without regard for their own lives, sacrificing their own lives, which is a matter of great pride and honour for me as the Home Minister of the country. Mr. Shah said that he wanted to tell the Border Security Force personnel that not only the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, but the entire nation salutes your bravery, has unwavering faith in your efficiency, and sleeps peacefully because of your unwavering resolve to protect the country, which is a matter of pride for any force.

Shah said that while we provided a limited response through Operation Sindoor, Pakistan considered our attack on terrorists an attack on them. When the Pakistani Army swung into action, BSF personnel spared no effort in giving them a befitting reply. He said that within a few days, due to the bravery of the BSF and the Army, Pakistan announced a unilateral truce, sending a message to the entire world that India’s borders and Indian security forces should not be tampered with, or else there will be consequences.

Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah stated that during Operation Sindoor, our forces destroyed headquarters, training camps, and launch pads of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen, and Lashkar-e-Taiba at nine locations. The objective of this operation was to eliminate terrorism, protect our citizens, and secure the border areas. He stated that during this operation, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Imtiaz Ahmed and Constable Shri Deepak Ji made the supreme sacrifice, displaying unparalleled bravery, and he pays tribute to them. The Union Home Minister stated that the BSF has also conducted numerous operations against narcotics infiltration into the country and has achieved significant success. He stated that the BSF has seized 18,000 kilograms of narcotics so far in 2025. The BSF is engaged in preventing infiltration at all borders of the country. He said that preventing infiltration is not only essential for national security but also to protect the country’s democratic system from being corrupted. However, unfortunately, some political parties are engaged in weakening the “Remove Infiltrators” campaign. He said that these political parties are also opposing the voter list purification work being carried out by the Election Commission under the SIR process. Mr. Shah said that it is our pledge to expel every single infiltrator from this country.

Mr. Amit Shah said that the decision regarding who will become the Chief Minister of any state and who will become the Prime Minister of the country will be decided solely by the citizens of India. No infiltrator has the right to corrupt our democratic system and influence our democratic decisions. He said that SIR is an important process to protect our democracy from infiltrators and strengthen it further. I appeal to the people of the country to fully support this process. He said that the recent elections in Bihar were a clear mandate from the people of the country, and that mandate was strongly against infiltration. Political parties attempting to include infiltrators in voter lists or provide them protection should understand that the people of India will never accept such intentions. Mr. Shah said that in recent years, we have rapidly worked to strengthen the border fencing. Most of the fencing trials have now been completed. End
