Shyam Lal College’s Team Wins Fifth Title This Year

New Delhi. The Shyam Lal College team, representing Delhi University, displayed outstanding skills to win the 81st All India Bundelkhand Hockey Tournament held in Charkhari, Mahoba. The teams from Shyam Lal College and SAI Centre, Lucknow, played fiercely in the tournament. However, after a close contest, the Shyam Lal College team won the title by a 4-2 margin in the tiebreaker. This is Shyam Lal College’s fifth title this year. The Shyam Lal College team was awarded a prize of 50,000 rupees for winning the tournament. Shyam Lal College Principal, Prof. Rabi Narayan Kar, congratulated the team on this achievement and wished them well for the future. In the final match of this tournament, the teams of Shyam Lal College and SAI Centre Lucknow were tied at 1-1 in the stipulated time. Mohammad Faiz of Lucknow team scored the first goal and gave the lead. After this, in the second half, Shyam Lal College team got a chance to equalize and Sagar Yadav scored a goal from a penalty corner, bringing the game to a 1-1 draw. After this draw, the game reached the tiebreaker, where Shyam Lal College performed better and took the victory. Shyam Lal College’s goalkeeper Mohammad Kamil made excellent saves in the penalty shootout and played a big role in his team’s victory by a margin of 4-2. Mohammad Kamil of Shyam Lal College team was adjudged the best goalkeeper of the tournament. Rahul was honored with the honor of best defender. Shyam Lal College’s team included Mohammad Kamil (goalkeeper), Rahul (captain), K. Rohit, Himanshu, Lalit, Harsh Sharma, Naveen Bidhuri, Shlok Tiwari, Pratyush Singh Jaggi, Nandkishore, Pankaj, Bhupendra, Manmohan, Sagar Yadav, Satish, Rishu were included. The hockey team of Shyam Lal College is adding one achievement after another and the titles added to it this year include the 11th Padmashree Shyam Lal Memorial Hockey Tournament title, the BITS Pilani Hockey Tournament title in Pilani, Rajasthan, the 43rd Shriyut Baba Bhagat Smriti All India Hockey Tournament title held in Shahjahanpur, Rajasthan, Delhi University Inter College Hockey title, and now this 81st Bundelkhand Hockey Tournament title.
