Congress gets a major issue in the election year

New Delhi: After new twists emerged in the much-discussed Ankita Bhandari murder case in Uttarakhand, the BJP high command will now have to take an immediate decision regarding Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at all costs. Otherwise, this matter will prove very costly for the BJP. In the election year, Congress has made this case its main weapon. If the demand for a CBI inquiry within ten days is not met, Congress has warned of a major agitation in the Garhwal division. This case may also affect other states. Because in the video, the name of a senior BJP leader, Dushyant Kumar Gautam, is being openly mentioned, and there is talk of protecting him. The accused leader Dushyant Gautam is currently the in-charge of Uttarakhand. Another BJP leader, Aarti Gaur, is also in the news. In the video shown by the Congress, Urmila Sanawar, the wife of a former BJP MLA, is threatening to get justice for Ankita and expose the names of other people.
After the new revelations, the Ankita murder case has become very serious. The videos that have surfaced regarding this case are very shameful. The image of the hills has also been tarnished. Chief Minister Dhami and his government have themselves come under suspicion.
Dhami, who was trying to save his chair by relying on bulldozers and was unconcerned about corruption allegations, now seems to be caught in his own trap. The Dhami government ran two types of bulldozers. First, a bulldozer was used on the room where Ankita was murdered, which is raising many questions. Secondly, the bulldozers that are being used now are being used to divert attention from the real problems. In this too, a particular community was targeted to fuel the politics of appeasement. Now, these bulldozers are going to become a major crisis for Dhami. Because under CM Dhami’s leadership, the bulldozer was first used on the room where all the evidence related to Ankita’s murder was present. The Congress party has raised the question of why Dhami hastily ordered the demolition of the very room where the crucial evidence was located. Sanawar also says the same thing, questioning why the bulldozer was used on that room first.
The Congress party says that this is the real subject of the investigation – why Dhami did this. The image of “Dhakad Dhami” (fearless Dhami) was created after the room was bulldozed. Dhami’s supporters propagated the idea that the accused’s hotel was demolished. While, ideally, the agencies should have been allowed to investigate the room before any action was taken. Congress leader Godiyal says that when he reached the crime scene, the beds were also burnt. It was clear that an attempt had been made to destroy evidence. Even at that time, questions were raised about why this was done in such a hurry. Now the truth seems to be coming out. For the past two days, the videos of Urmila Sanawar, the second wife of former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore, who was expelled from the party, have shaken politics up to Delhi with what she has said about CM Dhami and the BJP. The name of high command leader Dushyant Gautam is being widely discussed. The kind of vulgar language used in the video will have the biggest impact on the BJP’s image.
Uttarakhand Congress state president Ganesh Godiyal, at the Congress headquarters here, showed Sanawar’s videos, putting the BJP in the dock, and also reminded Prime Minister Narendra Modi of his “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” (Save the Daughter, Educate the Daughter) slogan, demanding justice for the daughter of Uttarakhand. Godiyal said that the Ankita Bhandari murder case should be investigated by the CBI under the supervision of a current or retired judge so that the real truth can be revealed. He said that the CBI cannot be trusted, which is why he has demanded an investigation under the supervision of a judge. Ankita Bhandari was murdered in December 2022. Police arrested three people, including Pulkit Arya, the son of a BJP leader, on charges of murder. The court found all three guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment last May. All three are currently in jail. Ankita worked as a receptionist at a hotel. The hotel owner, Pulkit Arya, was accused of killing her. Ankita’s body was found in a canal. From the very first day, this high-profile case generated much discussion. Protests also took place in Uttarakhand. There were concerns that other accused individuals had not been apprehended. But now, a video released by Urmila Sanawar on Facebook and other social media platforms has shaken the BJP. The video surfaced just as the state was entering an election year. This incident occurred during CM Dhami’s tenure. Videos have been made and circulated, discussing various aspects of Ankita’s case. Both the accused and the accusers are associated with the BJP. It is surprising that such a major case was not brought to the CM’s attention. Now, the Congress party has found an issue in this election year that could significantly damage the BJP’s image.
