A two-day national conference on the theme “Indian Language Family: Cultural Heritage” was successfully organized by the Saraswati IKS Centre and IQAC, Shyam Lal College, in collaboration with the Indian Language Committee, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The conference was organized under the guidance and patronage of the Principal of Shyam Lal College, Prof. Rabi Narayan Kar. His visionary leadership and academic insight provided clear direction to this event and strengthened the institutional commitment towards Indian knowledge tradition and linguistic heritage. The objective of this conference was to understand Indian languages ​​not merely as a medium of communication, but as carriers of Indian knowledge tradition, cultural consciousness, and civilizational heritage.
Prof. Kusha Tiwari, Director of Saraswati IKS Centre and IQAC, played a crucial role in the academic and intellectual conduct of the conference. Under her guidance, the conference’s theme and session structure acquired a comprehensive and interdisciplinary character from an academic perspective.
The conference was conducted smoothly due to the efficient leadership, systematic planning, and effective coordination of the conference convener, Dr. Seema Guglani. Her efforts provided a meaningful platform for deliberation and academic dialogue for the participants. During these two days, comprehensive discussions were held on various aspects of Indian languages ​​through the inaugural session, theme-based sessions, plenary sessions, round table discussions, panel discussions, and technical sessions. This conference proved to be an important academic initiative in the direction of the study, preservation, and promotion of Indian languages ​​and helped in connecting the Indian knowledge tradition with contemporary academic contexts. Prof. Chand Kiran Saluja was the chief guest at the inaugural session of this conference. Prof. Srinivas Varkhedi was the chief guest, Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma (Indian Language Committee) was the distinguished speaker, and Dr. Mantha Srinivasu (Joint Secretary, UGC) was the distinguished guest at the valedictory session.
