New Delhi: On the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya, the Hindu Shri Foundation has urged Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to establish a “Shankaracharya Study Center” in the national capital. The letter also proposes the construction of a grand statue and a comprehensive museum dedicated to the revered saint, aimed at preserving and showcasing the life, teachings, and legacy of Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya. Dr. Shiv Chaudhary, President of the Hindu Shri Foundation, emphasized the imperative need to promote and safeguard India’s *Sanatan* (eternal) knowledge tradition through structured academic and cultural initiatives. He stated that the proposed study center dedicated to Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya would serve as a central hub for research, education, and the dissemination of teachings related to Advaita Vedanta and Indian philosophy.
The Hindu Shri Foundation acknowledged the efforts of the Narendra Modi government in promoting India’s spiritual and cultural heritage, citing historic initiatives such as the redevelopment of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and the transformation of the Mahakaleshwar Temple. It also lauded the installation of statues of Adi Shankaracharya at the Omkareshwar and Kedarnath temples.
Emphasizing the enduring relevance of Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya’s teachings, the Foundation highlighted his pivotal role in revitalizing Hindu philosophy and fostering national unity through spiritual thought. Dr. Chaudhary remarked, “His contributions to Advaita Vedanta continue to inspire values of unity, harmony, and spiritual growth.” Under this plan, the Hindu Shri Foundation has proposed several key initiatives. These include establishing Shankaracharya Study Centers in major universities and educational institutions across India; promoting research on Vedanta, the Upanishads, and Indian philosophy; and organizing youth-focused courses and seminars to strengthen cultural awareness. Furthermore, the plan entails the translation of Shankaracharya’s works into modern languages and their digital dissemination. “Such initiatives will fortify India’s cultural heritage and inspire future generations. This project will serve as a meaningful national tribute on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Jagadguru Shri Adi Shankaracharya Ji. We urge you to give positive consideration to this proposal and take the necessary steps toward its implementation,” stated Dr. Chaudhary in his letter addressed to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
