The Dhami government is now embroiled in a paper leak scandal.
Opposition alleges corruption

The Sunday Mail
Dehradun. The troubles of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami show no signs of abating. Previously, the government was under fire for issues like mining corruption and disaster management irregularities. Now, it is also facing scrutiny for corruption in education. The state’s youth took to the streets on Monday over the paper leak issue. Congress burned effigies of the government in district headquarters and demanded its resignation. Youths staged a massive protest on the streets of Dehradun, chanting slogans like “Paper thieves, leave the throne” and “Beat the commission’s brokers with shoes.” There was widespread anger among the youth against the government. Congress, the Uttarakhand Unemployed Association, and various opposition parties protested outside the commission, raising slogans against the government. State Congress President Karan Singh Maher said that this government, mired in corruption, did not cancel the competitive examination, even though there was no justification for conducting the examination now due to the disaster. Moreover, the paper leak had affected the morale of the youth. However, the Dhami government did not accept anyone’s demands.

Mahar said that the paper leak incident during the examination is directly linked to corruption. The paper leak is a living example of serious negligence and corruption. Jaiprakash Upadhyay, Vice President of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, also considered the paper leak as corruption. Babi Panwar of the Unemployed Association said that the government itself is steeped in corruption and this is the result of that. Panwar said that the Dhami government does not trust democracy and is trying to suppress the youth. The Dehradun SP is acting as the government’s spokesperson. The youth are angry. They are trying to stop them. The youth will not remain silent now. The paper leak is a big issue. The police had arrested Hakam Singh and Pankaj Gor in the paper leak case. Hakam Singh has been arrested earlier also in the paper leak case. State Congress President Maher says that if the Dhami government had taken proper action against Hakam Singh and had not been involved in corruption, then the future of the youth would not have been in danger today. The corrupt Dhami government did not stop corruption in the matter of unemployed youth. The Education Minister should resign immediately. The paper leak issue does not seem to cool down soon. There is already anger among the general public against the Dhami government due to corruption. If the youth take the path of a long agitation, then the problems of the BJP government are sure to increase. The youth will not sit silent. The situation in Uttarakhand remains worrisome. The disaster has affected the entire hilly region, including the capital Dehradun. Serious allegations are being leveled against the government regarding aid. The government is also failing in disaster management. The opposition directly alleges that disaster management has been erroneous. Chief Minister Dhami has even faced public anger in some affected areas. End
