Former Delhi CM Kejriwal Allotted New Bungalow

New Delhi. Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal has been allotted a new bungalow. Kejriwal has been allotted the 95, Lodhi Estate bungalow by the Central Government. The new bungalow was allotted following a reprimand from the Delhi High Court. Previously, former IPS and BJP leader Iqbal Singh Lalpura had lived in the bungalow.

On September 16, the High Court criticized the Central Government’s procrastinating approach, stating that the allotment process is a free-for-all system and that housing allocation cannot be selectively prioritized. Criticizing the delay in bungalow allotment, the High Court stressed the need for transparency in the management of government housing by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The court was hearing a petition filed by the AAP seeking a centrally located residence for Kejriwal.
