Dehradun. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, today to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the state of Uttarakhand. At the Silver Jubilee celebrations held at FRI, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth over Rs 8,140 crore. He also released a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion. PM Modi began his address in Garhwali. PM Modi arrived in Dehradun at 11:30 am today, where he was welcomed by the Uttarakhand Governor, Chief Minister Dhami, and other leaders. PM Modi then proceeded to the venue by road. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed Prime Minister Modi with a shawl and presented him with a replica of Kedarnath Baba’s winter residence in Ukhimath.

Prime Minister Modi began his address in Garhwali. He said, “Didi, forget the wisdom of the wise. Namaskar to all of you.” The Prime Minister’s address filled the people with enthusiasm and zeal. Modi said that today Uttarakhand is filled with joy. Uttarakhand is reaching new heights of development. He congratulated the people of the state on the 25th anniversary of its establishment and said that this decade will prove to be a decade of rapid development in Uttarakhand. He said that projects related to education, health, tourism, and sports will further the journey of development here. The Uttarakhand government is now starting to provide digital grants to apple and kiwi farmers. He said that Uttarakhand is the heartbeat of spiritual life. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “You all know how deeply I feel about Uttarakhand. Whenever I came here, the dedication and passion of the people inspired me. It truly introduced me to the potential of Uttarakhand. This decade was not just a statement about Uttarakhand; I had full faith in all of you. This is a period of Uttarakhand’s progress. When Uttarakhand was newly formed, there were many challenges.” Resources were limited, and there was no budget. Most needs were met with central assistance. Today, the picture has changed.

PM Modi said that seeing the heights Uttarakhand has reached today, it is natural for everyone who fought for the state to be happy. I am happy that the double-engine BJP government is working to elevate Uttarakhand’s potential to new heights. I congratulate the state on its Silver Jubilee. I also pay tribute to the agitators who sacrificed their lives.

At the Silver Jubilee celebrations, the PM presented Uttarakhand with projects worth ₹8,260 crore. These projects cover several key sectors, including drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports, and skill development. These include the Amrit Water Supply Project to increase drinking water supply in 23 zones of Dehradun city, an electrical substation in Pithoragarh, solar power plants in government buildings, and an Astroturf hockey ground at Haldwani Stadium in Nainital. He also released ₹62 crore under the Crop Insurance Scheme into the accounts of 28,000 farmers.

PM Meets Children and the Elderly

On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi met with children and pampered them. The children presented him with roses. The PM also interacted with the elderly and other beneficiaries during an event at FRI.

Uttarakhand Ready for the Goal of a Developed India: Dhami

CM Dhami said, “I remember all the deities, including Baba Kedarnath, Lord Badrinath, Mahasu Devta, and Golju Devta. I remember the brave soldiers who defended the country and the state agitators who made immortal sacrifices.” Dhami said, “PM Modi has instilled in the world the belief that we are no less than anyone. Uttarakhand is ready to contribute to the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047.”
