MP Sports Festival 2025 Closing Ceremony

Jodhpur. Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, said that a nation that is physically fit becomes a developed nation. The discipline, hard work, and self-confidence of the players are the foundation of a healthy, strong, and self-reliant India.

He was addressing the closing ceremony of the MP Sports Festival 2025 held at Krida Sangam Gaushala Ground on Thursday. Shekhawat said that the players of Rajasthan have brought glory to the state and the country not only at the national level but also on the international stage. He said that the MP Sports Festival is not just a competition, but a comprehensive campaign for building a strong and healthy India.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message, the Union Minister said that this competition has given meaning to slogans like “Fit India, Hit India” and “If India plays, India will prosper.” This event has proved to be an important milestone in making India healthy, strong, and self-reliant.
*Focus and Discipline are the Key to Success*
Shekhawat said that a person who moves forward with complete concentration and focus on their goal will certainly achieve success in life. Whether it is sports or any other field of life, discipline, continuous practice, and focus are extremely essential. He said that every player participating in this competition is a living example of fitness and focus, and this is the mantra behind the immense success of this event.
*Harmony Increased Through Collective Participation*
The Union Minister informed that the festival started at the panchayat level with traditional games, in which women, the elderly, and children actively participated. This has strengthened community spirit, social harmony, and cultural roots. He said that in the coming years, this competition will be further strengthened, where modern sports culture will be promoted by drawing inspiration from traditional games. *Jodhpur emerges as the second largest center in the country in terms of participation*
Shekhawat informed that a total of 1,30,056 participants registered to participate in the Sansad Khel Mahotsav – 2025. 19,597 players, selected from the village and urban levels, reached the block level. After winning at the assembly level, 1,619 players participated in the parliamentary-level competitions. With this extensive participation, Jodhpur emerged as the second largest center in the country.

The closing ceremony was attended by Sur Sagar MLA Devendra Joshi, City MLA Atul Bhansali, Phalodi MLA Pabbaram Bishnoi, Pokaran MLA Mahant Pratap Puri, former Minister of State Prof. Mahendra Singh Rathore, Jyoti Gyani, Hanuman Singh Khangta, Jodhpur Development Authority Commissioner Utsah Choudhary, Manish Purohit, Gaurav Jain, and many other public representatives and dignitaries. The presence of thousands of players and sports enthusiasts made the event a grand success.
