New Delhi: Even after the announcement of handing over the Ankita Bhandari murder case investigation to the CBI, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s troubles do not seem to be diminishing. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, said on his X account that the brutal murder of Ankita Bhandari in Uttarakhand has shaken the entire country – but the question remains: which BJP VIP is being protected by the power of the government? When will the law be equal for everyone? After Rahul’s attack on the BJP, it seems the Ankita Bhandari murder case movement will not end. The Uttarakhand bandh, under whose pressure the CBI inquiry was announced, does not seem to be called off. Meanwhile, the Congress has adopted an aggressive stance against the BJP’s central leadership, Chief Minister Dhami, and in-charge Dushyant Gautam at the party headquarters here.

The Congress also tried to implicate the BJP’s central leadership, saying that the name of the person who is trying to protect the accused should also be revealed. The Congress said that the CBI investigation should be completed as soon as possible under the supervision of a sitting Supreme Court judge. The Congress said that this demand of theirs still remains. On Saturday, the Congress party fielded its national-level leader for the first time in the Ankita Bhandari case. Alka Lamba, the national president of the Mahila Congress, who had previously only issued statements on social media, came forward publicly. Alka said, “We have come here to 24 Akbar Road today to fight for justice for our daughter of Uttarakhand, Ankita Bhandari.” Alka not only questioned Chief Minister Dhami’s actions in the entire episode but also criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This is because Dhami, influenced by CM Yogi, had the

controversial resort demolished with a bulldozer, destroying all the evidence. The Congress’s stance makes it clear that there will be no compromise short of Chief Minister Dhami’s resignation and the arrest of the VIP involved. The Congress can now make CM Dhami’s resignation and the VIP’s arrest a major issue and take the movement to a larger scale. The Congress may also continue the agitation after Sunday’s shutdown. Lamba, providing details about Ankita from the beginning, stated that Ankita started working at BJP leader Vinod Arya’s resort on August 18, 2022. Within a month, by September 18, she was pressured to provide immoral services to VIPs. The brave Ankita refused to comply, and she was murdered, her body thrown into the Chilla canal. No FIR was filed for five days. Then a missing person report was filed. Local MLA Renu Bisht clearly stated that the resort was demolished on the Chief Minister’s orders. Alka stated that the resort was demolished on September 23 to destroy all the evidence. Because the government knew that Ankita lived there and all the evidence was present there. Therefore, Dhami, influenced by Yogi Adityanath, destroyed the evidence with a bulldozer. Ankita’s body was found on September 24, 2022. Seeing the anger of Ankita’s parents and the public, three people, including Pulkit Arya, the son of BJP MLA Vinod Arya, were arrested. The Congress party will continue this fight until the real VIPs involved in Ankita’s case are apprehended. The Congress party showed and released several videos during today’s press conference.
