Satish Poonia’s Book “Agnipath Nahi Janpath” Released at World Book Fair

New Delhi. The fifth edition of the book ‘Agnipath Nahi Janpath’ by Dr. Satish Poonia, BJP Haryana State In-charge and former BJP Rajasthan State President, was released on Sunday at the World Book Fair held at Bharat Mandapam. Published by Vera Publications, Jaipur, this book is based on Satish Poonia’s experiences during his tenure as an MLA from 2018 to 2023. It details the functioning of the Legislative Assembly, public interest issues, the private member’s bill on religious conversion, issues concerning youth and farmers, the commendable work done by the central Modi government during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the internal conflicts and anti-people policies of the then Congress government.
At the event, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said that Dr. Poonia has established a strong identity not only as a politician but also as an author. This book has been written from the heart and soul. He said that the Legislative Assembly is a center of dialogue, and the anti-conversion private member’s bill presented by Dr. Poonia during his time as an MLA has now become a law in Rajasthan, which is a great achievement for any legislator. He described it as an important document for the younger generation and those entering politics.
Professor Milind Sudhakar Marathe, Chairman of the National Book Trust (NBT), said that Dr. Satish Poonia’s life has been a symbol of struggle, and that struggle is reflected in this book as well. The fact that the first book has reached its fifth edition in just a few months is a testament to the acceptance and success of his writing. He described the book as a valuable addition for the new generation.
Senior journalist Pallavi Ghosh said that journalists often have limited time for reading and research, and therefore, this book is extremely useful and interesting for journalists as well. Several interesting aspects beyond the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly have been included in the book. The author has presented the political tussle, particularly between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot, in an engaging manner, bringing the circumstances of that period vividly to life. Satish Poonia is a seasoned and visionary leader of Rajasthan, and his book proves instrumental in strengthening the foundations of democracy.
Dr. Satish Poonia said that this book is an authentic document of his experiences during his tenure as a Member of the Legislative Assembly. Through it, ordinary citizens and elected representatives can understand how issues of public interest are raised in the Legislative Assembly and how the voice of the people is effectively represented. He considered it a great honor to have his book launched at a prestigious platform like the World Book Fair.
