Chauhan meets Finance Minister Sitharaman

New Delhi: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh, met with Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman in Delhi today. Shri Chauhan has visited various states across the country in recent weeks and held extensive discussions with progressive farmers, agricultural experts, self-help groups, cooperative societies, rural industries, and senior representatives of national-level institutions related to both ministries, both in the states and in Delhi. He compiled the ideas and suggestions received from these discussions into a comprehensive proposal for agricultural and rural development and submitted it to the Finance Minister.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the central government is continuously working to make rural India self-reliant and prosperous. Shri Chauhan said that under the able and visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, the upcoming Union Budget will be inspiring for farmers and the rural community. He expressed confidence that the budget for the financial year 2026-27 will prove to be a milestone in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of “Prosperous Farmers, Empowered Villages.”
