Khalsa College, SLC ‘B’, and IGI win in the 12th Padmashree Shyam Lal Memorial Hockey Tournament

New Delhi. The teams of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, SLC ‘B’, and Shyam Lal College Alumni advanced in the men’s category with excellent performances. Meanwhile, the Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Science team strengthened its position in the women’s category with a victory in the 12th Padmashree Shyam Lal Memorial Hockey Tournament.
The SLC ‘B’ team defeated Shri Ram College of Commerce by a score of 3-1. Abhishek of SLC ‘B’ received the Player of the Match award. Kamal, Deepak, and Rishu scored one goal each for the winning team. Hrithik scored the only goal for the defeated team, reducing the margin of defeat. The Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College team defeated Shyam Lal College (Evening) by a score of 8-1. Tanuj contributed significantly to the big win by scoring four goals for the winners. Manish scored two goals. Sagar and Sushil scored one goal each. Abhijit scored the only goal for the defeated team. Tanuj was awarded the Player of the Match award.
The Shyam Lal College Alumni team defeated Hansraj College in a close match by a score of 1-0. Shravan scored the only goal. Sunil of the winning team was given the Player of the Match award.
In the women’s category, the Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Science team defeated Janaki Devi Memorial College by a score of 3-0. Anchal, Pinky, and Anshika scored one goal each. Anchal was awarded the Player of the Match award. (Sports Editor)
