Fugitive Lalit Modi’s brother, Sameer, arrested in rape case

New Delhi. Delhi Police arrested Sameer Modi, brother of fugitive Lalit Modi, on Thursday while he was preparing to flee abroad. He was arrested on rape charges. A woman filed a complaint against him at the New Friends Colony police station. He had reached the airport to flee, but was detained by police.
Sameer Modi has been arrested in connection with an old rape case. Police had been investigating this case for a long time. The case is registered at the New Friends Colony police station. After arresting Sameer, the police produced him in court, where he was sent to jail in police custody. Sameer was the executive director of Modi Enterprises. He is also the executive director of Godfrey Phillips India and a director of Indofil Industries Limited.
