Congress demands CBI investigation

Dehradun. The Dhami government’s troubles are increasing regarding the George Everest land scam. Congress continues to attack the government on this issue. On Thursday, the Congress submitted a memorandum to Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh, demanding a CBI investigation into the entire matter and the immediate cancellation of the company’s allotment. The George Everest land scam is said to be worth several crores. Keeping the rules and regulations aside, the land was leased to Acharya Balkrishna’s company. If a proper investigation is conducted, Chief Minister Dhami and many leaders even from Delhi will come under the scanner. Congress State President Karan Mahar even says that this is the first scam that has been exposed and many more will be exposed. That is why the Congress is now aggressive. On Thursday, a memorandum was submitted to the Governor under the leadership of former Chief Minister Harish Rawat. The memorandum also mentions the negligence in disaster management. A demand has also been made to take cognizance of the Vairagi Camp scam of Haridwar. Congress has stated that the government has completely failed in disaster management. A scam worth crores of rupees has been committed on tourist land. Therefore, a CBI investigation should be conducted into the George Everest land scam. Congress has stated that 172 acres of land worth 30,000 crore rupees was handed over to Acharya Balkrishna’s company for a mere 1 crore rupees annual rent. The tender process was changed at the last minute to benefit the company. 200-year-old routes for local residents have been closed, and tourists are being extorted. Furthermore, helicopter operations are continuing without permission. Now, preparations are underway to give the land of Vairagi Camp in Haridwar to the same company.
The memorandum demanded that the order to give the land of George Everest to the company be rescinded. A CBI investigation into the entire matter should be conducted under the supervision of a sitting High Court judge. The tender process for Vairagi Camp should be stopped. The memorandum states that the Dhami government has completely failed in disaster management. For three days, there is no electricity or water in the affected areas, including Dehradun. The situation of the disaster in the mountains is even worse. Relief and rehabilitation work has come to a standstill. The risk of diseases is increasing, but there is no preparation.।Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, former Leader of Opposition Pritam Singh, former Metropolitan President Lalchand Sharma, General Secretary Godavari Thapali, former MLA Kedarnath Manoj Rawat, former MLA Rajkumar, senior Congress leader Surendra Agarwal, Chief Spokesperson Garima Mehra Dasauni, General Secretary Mahendra Negi, Farmer Labor President Sushil Rathi, etc. were present in the delegation.
