New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday unveiled infrastructure projects worth ₹5,100 crore in Arunachal. The PM virtually laid the foundation stone for two major hydropower projects in Shiyomi district and a convention center in Tawang. He also inaugurated other infrastructure projects worth ₹1,290 crore related to various sectors, including connectivity, health, and security. The Prime Minister said the projects launched exemplify the double benefits of a double-engine government.
The PM landed at Donyi Polo Airport in Hollongi in the morning and departed by helicopter for the Raj Bhavan in Itanagar.
Modi said Arunachal has become a special journey for me. On the first day of Navratri, I got to see such beautiful mountains. Today, the next-generation GST reforms have come into effect. The GST Savings Festival has begun. Arunachal Pradesh has been awarded projects in power, health, tourism, and several other sectors.
The Tricolor and Arunachal’s First Color: Saffron
The PM said in Itanagar that just as the first color of the tricolor is saffron, Arunachal Pradesh’s first color is saffron. This land is a land of valor. Every person here symbolizes courage and peace. He said that although Arunachal Pradesh was the place where the sun’s rays first fell, it took decades for the rays of rapid development to reach here. During that time, those running the country from Delhi often ignored Arunachal.
Congress Doesn’t Take on Difficult Development Tasks
Parties like Congress used to think that with so few people and only two Lok Sabha seats, why should they pay attention to Arunachal Pradesh?
Congress has a long-standing habit of never taking on any difficult development task. This Congress habit has caused significant harm to the Northeast. Wherever development was challenging, the Congress would dismiss it as backward. It would dismiss border villages as the last villages. We worship the eight states of the Northeast as the eight Lakshmis, so we cannot see this region lagging behind in development.
