Visakhapatnam to be a major AI hub, Google to invest $15 billion

New Delhi. Google CEO Sundar Pichai has vowed to build a major AI hub in India. He stated that his company will invest ₹1.33 lakh crore, or $15 billion, in this regard. Pichai said on Tuesday that he has spoken with Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding this matter and shared with him the American giant’s plans for its first AI hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Google has announced a massive data center and artificial intelligence base in Visakhapatnam, which will be its largest AI hub outside the United States. The company says Google will invest $15 billion in India over the next five years. Pichai shared this information on social media X, calling it a historic step.
Pichai wrote on X: “It was great to speak with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” We shared our plans for the first Google AI Center in Visakhapatnam, which is a historic milestone.
