New Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday praised the National Security Guard (NSG) for its four decades of strong fight against terrorism. He said that seeing the NSG’s actions gives the country the assurance that its security and the fight against terrorism are in safe hands. Shah also announced that the government is going to make major changes in the functioning of the NSG.
Addressing a program on the NSG’s 41st foundation day in Manesar, Haryana, Shah said that by making the three principles of dedication, courage, and patriotism its hallmark, the NSG has fought a vigorous battle against organized crime and terrorism for four decades. After witnessing the NSG’s performance, every citizen of the country goes home with the satisfaction in their hearts and minds that our security and the fight against terrorism are in very safe hands.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, Shah said that Operation Sindoor destroyed terrorist headquarters, their training centers and launch pads in Pakistan. Shah said that the Special Operations Training Center (SOTC) will not only train the NSG but will also train the state police forces. He said that I want to tell all the state police forces that the SOTC inaugurated today will not only train the NSG but will also train all of you. He said that we are going to make a big change in the role of NSG. A new hub of NSG is being established in Ayodhya. Six such hubs of NSG will help in reducing any terrorist attack.
