Dr. Shrikrishna Sharma
New Delhi. UP Yoddha started the Delhi leg of PKL 12 at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium with two consecutive wins. The victory against Tamil Thalaivas in a thrilling match propelled their team to eighth place in the points table. UP Yoddha captain Sumit Sangwan, speaking about his team’s performance in recent matches, said, “Yesterday’s win gave the team a lot of confidence, and we carried that into this match as well. Therefore, our goal will be to continue playing in the same manner. There is no pressure on the team. We want to play with confidence and perform well in both departments.” Yoddha assistant coach Upendra Malik also commented on Guman Singh’s consistent performance in recent matches, saying, “Guman has been performing well for us in the last few matches, and this has greatly benefited not only the defenders but also the other supporting raiders. We hope Guman continues to perform like this, and our defense will also take full advantage of these crucial moments.”
Regarding the last two matches and the new league format, the assistant coach said, “In the last two matches, we have handled those moments well, and we want to continue that.” The new rule changes have made things interesting. Now, no matches are tied, and a win only awards two points. Therefore, every match is important, and everyone has a chance to make it to the playoffs. Previously, there were only six teams, but now with eight teams in the league stage, everyone has a chance to play until the end. This has given everyone a chance.” Looking ahead to the team’s upcoming match against Haryana Steelers, Sumit Sangwan said, “Our last match against Haryana was a close one, and we lost in the end. Therefore, we will focus on this and implement the strategies we used in our last two matches to ensure victory.” Telugu Titans are currently in the best form of the tournament, and they will want to maintain this momentum in the match against Bengal Warriors. Vijay Malik and Bharat Hooda have performed brilliantly for the Titans, but they will have to be vigilant against Devank Dalal, one of the best raiders in the league. (Sports Editor)
