Ahmedabad. In Gujarat, all ministers except the Chief Minister have resigned from their posts. The Gujarat cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, will be expanded on Friday. A senior BJP leader had previously stated that the state could receive approximately 10 new ministers in the upcoming cabinet expansion, and approximately half of the existing ministers could be replaced.
The cabinet expansion of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will take place at 11:30 am on Friday. The current Gujarat cabinet consists of 17 ministers, including Chief Minister Patel. Eight are cabinet-level ministers, while the same number are Ministers of State (MoS). Gujarat, with its 182-member Legislative Assembly, can have 27 ministers, or 15 percent of the total strength of the House. Earlier this month, Jagdish Vishwakarma, a Minister of State in the Gujarat government, became the new president of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s state unit, replacing Union Minister CR Patil.
