DC School Cup: Modern School Barakhamba Road and St. Thomas School to clash in the final

New Delhi. Modern School Barakhamba Road and St. Thomas School will face each other in the final of the DC School Cup. On their way to the final, Modern School Barakhamba Road defeated Laxman Public School by 101 runs to secure their place in the final. St. Thomas School, on the other hand, qualified for the final by defeating St. Mark’s School by 7 wickets. In Semi-final 1, Modern School Barakhamba Road registered a resounding victory over Laxman Public School by 101 runs. Batting first, opener Tanmay Chaudhary provided a flying start with 90 runs off 53 balls, followed by a magnificent unbeaten century (101*) off 44 balls from captain Varun Sharma, propelling Modern to a formidable total of 244/3 in 20 overs. In the chase, Avyam Jain took early wickets, and the Modern bowlers maintained discipline – led by Avi Sharma (2/19) and Mahir Singh (2/15) – restricting Laxman to 143/8.
In the semi-final match between St. Thomas School and St. Mark’s School, St. Thomas School successfully secured their place in the final by defeating St. Mark’s School by 7 wickets. Bowling first, St. Thomas, led by Shivam Thakur (2/5), Akshat Parashar (2/12), and Kushagra Deswal (2/20), bowled them out for 62 runs. The chase was comfortable despite losing 3 wickets – St. Thomas reached 64/3 in 9.2 overs.
