CM Vishnu Deo Sai meets Union Sports Minister in New Delhi, expresses gratitude to Centre

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday paid a courtesy visit to Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi. During the meeting, the Chief Minister invited the Union Minister to attend the Khelo India Tribal Games to be held in Chhattisgarh as the chief guest.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Central Government has been making continuous efforts to promote sports and youth empowerment. The proposed Khelo India Tribal Games, under the Khelo India scheme, will provide a national platform to tribal pride, culture and traditional sports.
He informed that competitions in athletics, archery, wrestling, weightlifting, hockey, football and swimming will be organised as part of the Khelo India Tribal Games. The events will be held across different regions of the state, with Raipur and Bilaspur as the main venues.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the Khelo India Tribal Games in Chhattisgarh are proposed to be inaugurated in Raipur on February 14, 2026. He added that the gracious presence of the Union Minister would be significant for the success of the event.
Union Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya appreciated Chhattisgarh’s efforts to promote sports and provide opportunities to tribal athletes, and assured full support from the Central Government for the successful organisation of the Games.
