Pitroda adds to Congress’s troubles again
Love for Pakistan will prove costly in Bihar
The Sunday Mail
New Delhi. Indian Overseas Congress President Sam Pitroda’s love for Pakistan is set to cost the Congress and its allies dearly in the Bihar elections. Pitroda, a close confidante of the Gandhi family, makes his statement at a time when the Bihar elections are about to be announced, and the BJP has made Operation Sindoor against Pakistan a major issue. Rahul Gandhi’s foreign affairs advisor, Pitroda, said in an interview with an agency that he felt at home after visiting Pakistan. He also advised the central government that India’s foreign policy should focus primarily on neighboring countries. Following Pitroda’s statement, the BJP has launched an attack on the Congress. Three days ago, Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi praised Rahul Gandhi, giving the BJP an opportunity to attack. Pitroda has consistently caused trouble for the party with his statements. Earlier in February, he commented on China, saying that India exaggerates the threat from China. He said that India should stop considering Beijing an enemy and adopt a path of cooperation. Pitroda also said that India, like the United States, should give up the habit of defining its enemy. Pitroda also made controversial statements during the general elections, causing trouble for the Congress party. Rahul Gandhi’s statements have also created controversy at Pitroda’s events abroad.
