New Delhi. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that he would prefer to resign than form a government with the BJP to achieve statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. Omar made this statement while targeting his own party MLAs in South Kashmir. Omar has been calling for full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, but now he has even talked about resigning.
Omar told his party MLAs to let him know if they are ready for this. He said that if the BJP’s inclusion in the government is necessary to achieve full statehood, then please accept his resignation and appoint another MLA as the Chief Minister. Form a government with the BJP. CM Abdullah said that he is not ready to form such a government.
Omar said that if he has to wait to see Jammu and Kashmir become a state, he will wait. He said that his party members must show courage and fight.
