District presidents should be selected in accordance with Rahul and Kharge’s wishes

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, strongly advocating the Organization Creation Campaign of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, said that when impartial district presidents are selected without any recommendation, the party will gain strength. The effort should be to ensure that no leader recommends anyone. Furthermore, the elected district presidents should be welcomed and taken along by all. Following the Organization Creation Campaign in Rajasthan, the party held an important meeting in Delhi on Friday regarding the selection of district presidents. Several leaders, including Organization General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, the state observer, State President Govind Singh Dotasara, and Legislative Party leader Tikaram Julie, attended the meeting. Former CM Gehlot was also invited to the meeting, but after a busy tour for the Bihar elections, he went straight to Jaipur. From Jaipur, Gehlot gave a direct message that in accordance with the sentiments of Rahul Gandhi and party president Kharge, district presidents should be selected impartially so that the organization can become stronger.
This message from Gehlot came at a time when there were reports that senior leaders were using their connections and power to put pressure on the observers. This matter has also reached the high command. Gehlot said that the organization creation campaign is an important program. It is one of the resolutions taken in the Udaipur Sankalp camp. His leader Rahul Gandhi and party president Kharge want that workers below 50 years of age should be given a chance in 50 districts of the state. The party has selected senior leaders for this campaign. Many of the observers have been ministers at the Centre. Some have been state presidents and have held various positions. It is not appropriate to pressure such observers or to express their feelings over the phone. The High Command’s sole intention is to obtain unbiased feedback so that the right person can be selected. My stance from day one has been that if the District President is appointed impartially and honestly, the party will be strengthened. The project should be completed honestly. The High Command in Delhi will decide when to release the list. But everyone should welcome the High Command’s decision. The decision to select a District President is not an easy one. Making a minister in the government is easy, but selecting a District President is a major challenge. Everyone should welcome whoever becomes the District President and provide full support. This message from Gehlot is considered important in many ways. His message will strengthen the impartial process of selecting District Presidents.
