Kota: Life is disrupted due to continuous torrential rains in Rajasthan. Both rail and road routes have been disrupted in Kota. Many trains are stuck due to mountain debris falling on the Delhi-Mumbai railway track. Continuous heavy rains in Kota district have completely disrupted life. The biggest impact has been on rail services and road traffic. Due to the landslide on the Delhi-Mumbai railway track in Dara Valley between Kota-Jhalawar late night, mountain debris and stones fell on the track, due to which many trains on this route had to be stopped midway.
In view of security, the railway administration has stopped more than a dozen trains including Garib Rath, Bandra-Jaipur Superfast, Mumbai-Duronto, Guwahati-Okha Express at various stations. Trains are standing at many stations including Dara Station, Kota, Ramganj Mandi, Jhalawar Road and passengers have to wait for three hours.
Here, road traffic has been closed on Kota-Jhalawar National Highway (NH-52) due to waterlogging near Dara Valley. The flow of water is so fast that many vehicles got stuck in the middle of the way. Thousands of passengers are troubled due to the blockage of both road and rail routes.
The situation is also bad in urban areas due to rain. 46.50 mm of rain was recorded in Sangod and 62 mm in Ramganj Mandi. Many shops in Kanwas town have been flooded, causing huge losses to traders.
Efforts are on to remove debris from the railway track and restore the road route. The administration says that it may take time for the situation to return to normal. Continuous rain has also caused waterlogging in the villages and towns of the district.
