Bhopal. Union Minister of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare, and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, participated in a program organized at the Agricultural Produce Market in Bilkisganj, in his parliamentary constituency, Vidisha, on Monday and addressed the gathering. He also distributed benefits under various schemes to beneficiaries. He also visited exhibitions from various departments and inspected a health camp. During the program, Shivraj Singh said that while everyone lives for themselves, life truly belongs to those who live for the people, society, and the country. He said, “I promise you that we will leave no stone unturned in serving our people. Today, we have organized a health camp in Bilkisganj. All mothers and sisters should get themselves checked, and if any illness is detected, there is no need to worry; we will provide complete treatment, because serving the poor and the needy is worship of God.”
Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that serving sisters and daughters is equivalent to worshipping goddesses. He said that in Durga Saptashati, Mother Goddess herself said that all the women in the world are my reflections, and therefore, I see the image of the Mother Goddess in every sister. He said that the Ladli Behna Yojana is a major initiative to bring positive change in the lives of women. Along with this scheme, the Lakhpati Didi Abhiyan is also being launched, focusing on increasing the income of rural women. The Union Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has also given me the responsibility of Rural Development Minister. Our aim is to increase the income of every sister through self-help groups. We want to ensure that every sister earns at least one lakh rupees annually, only then will their lives truly change. He said that the Central Government is committed to the economic empowerment of women and self-help groups will be made a strong medium in this direction.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that so far, 19 lakh houses have been provided in Madhya Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin. He said that those whose names were not on the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana list are also being surveyed and their names will be added to the list. The Union Minister said that no poor person will live in a kutcha house. Electricity will be provided to areas where electricity has not yet reached. Even if five houses have been built, electricity will be provided there. Our government’s goal is to provide every poor person with a pucca house, electricity, and a respectable life. Mr. Chauhan said that today, farmers in many places reported that their soybean crop has suffered severe damage due to heavy rains. We will speak with the government with utmost seriousness and conduct a proper survey. After the survey, efforts will be made to provide farmers with the benefits of the crop insurance scheme. Union Minister Mr. Chauhan said that the central and state governments are working in coordination to alleviate the difficulties of farmers. Farmers will not be allowed to suffer any losses under any circumstances, and every eligible farmer will be ensured that they receive the benefits of the scheme on time.
