Fit India Ambassador Rohtash Chaudhary Sets New Guinness World Record

New Delhi. Fit India Ambassador Rohtash Chaudhary set a new Guinness World Record for “Most push-ups in one hour while holding a 60-pound backpack” by performing 847 push-ups at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here. Known as India’s Push-Up Man, Rohtash Chaudhary has not only created history but also elevated the nation’s fitness spirit to new heights. By breaking Syria’s previous record of 820 push-ups, Rohtash has enhanced India’s pride globally. The official Guinness World Verification Team verified the record on the spot, making it a proud moment not only for Rohtash but for every Indian inspired by the Fit India Movement. On Sunday, schoolchildren, fitness enthusiasts, and Fit India Ambassadors cheered on Rohtash’s feat of strength.
This record attempt was made under the Fit India Movement, an initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya graced the event and felicitated Rohtash for his extraordinary achievement. Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said, “Rohtash Choudhary embodies the spirit of Fit India. Rohtash is also carrying forward the dream of our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi of making India a fit, strong and self-reliant nation.” He further said, “His dedication to Operation Sindoor and our soldiers in this record attempt and his continued passion for fitness makes him an inspiration for the youth of our country.” An emotional Rohtash said after his achievement, “In November 2024, I set a record of 704 one-leg push-ups and dedicated it to our Honorable Prime Minister. Today, I dedicate this new record to our Armed Forces and Operation Sindoor, which symbolizes the strength, discipline, and unity of our nation. I thank the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for their continued encouragement and support.” He further said that the Fit India Movement has given rise to “a social movement by cycling on Sundays for a pollution-free and healthy India,” and urged the youth to adopt fitness as a national duty.
