New Delhi. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched a scathing attack on the central government on Saturday. He said that trains bound for Bihar during the Chhath festival are packed to capacity, forcing passengers to hang onto doors and roofs. The Congress leader claimed that many trains are carrying twice the capacity. He taunted the NDA government with a double-engine, asking, “Where are the 12,000 special trains?”
Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, shared two videos on social media showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagging off a new train and rail passengers struggling to get into train coaches, launching a scathing attack on the government in light of the Bihar elections and Chhath. Rahul claimed that trains bound for Bihar are packed to capacity, making it impossible to get tickets, and travel has become inhuman. Many trains are 200 percent over capacity, with people hanging from the doors and even the roof.
Explaining the importance of festivals like Chhath for the people of Bihar, Rahul Gandhi wrote that it is a month of festivals: Diwali, Bhai Dooj, and Chhath. In Bihar, these festivals mean not just faith but also a yearning to return home. But this yearning has now become a struggle. He alleged that the failed double-engine government’s claims are hollow.
