Gehlot once again demonstrated his strength
Several leaders, including Mewaram, return
Harish Chaudhary’s difficulties will increase
The Sunday Mail
New Delhi. The return of some leaders to the Congress party has once again demonstrated the political power of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. It has been proven that the high command’s confidence in Gehlot remains intact. The return of some leaders, including former Shiv MLA Amin Khan and now former Barmer MLA Mewaram Jain, to the Congress party has dealt a significant blow to Gehlot’s opponents. It is well known that Congress General Secretary Harish Chaudhary had openly opposed Mewaram’s return. He even threatened to retire from politics if Mewaram returned. Harish Chaudhary is in charge of Madhya Pradesh, and those close to him promote him as a close associate of Rahul Gandhi. Chaudhary may have also hoped that the high command would listen to him.
Harish Chaudhary became active in Delhi upon receiving news of Mewaram’s return. Sources say he even sought the help of party general secretary Sachin Pilot, but the high command ignored him and approved the return of some leaders, including Mewaram Jain of Barmer. Mewaram Jain was expelled from the party in 2023 due to rape allegations. However, after being cleared in the investigation, he began efforts to return to the party.

Following Mewaram’s return, videos of Harish Chaudhary talking about retiring from politics are being widely circulated on social media. Furthermore, MP Hanuman Beniwal even posted a video of Harish Chaudhary, writing, “A Jat may sweat and bleed, but his tongue will never falter. He may lose his life, but a Jat’s word is never broken.” Let’s see how many live up to their promises. He made this statement in a sarcastic remark against Harish Chaudhary. Six leaders returned to the Congress party along with Mewaram Jain. These leaders are Balendu Shekhawat, Sandeep Sharma, Balram Yadav, Arvind Damor, and Tejpal Mirdha. Former Shiv MLA Amin Khan had already returned to the Congress party. Mewaram’s return threatens to upset the political equations of some Barmer leaders. Harish Chaudhary also works in Barmer politics and has always been at odds with Mewaram.
In fact, former CM Gehlot’s government may have lost the election, but his public welfare schemes are still a rage. This is why no other leader in the state matches him in terms of popularity. Recently, he visited several districts, where huge crowds gathered to hear and see him. At the welcome ceremony for former MLA Dheeraj Gujjar, the shower of flowers and the crowd broke records. Gehlot may not hold any office, but he still holds the position. He is busy strengthening the party and recharging its workers. He is also trying to bring back leaders who can strengthen the party. It is possible that other leaders who left the party may also return in the coming days, because the atmosphere in the state has started changing in just two years.
